Resolution No. 9515 - ERB hearing to approve/disapprove voter applications during ARMM general registration reset

RESOLUTION No. 9515
In the Matter of Resetting the Date of Hearing and Approval/Disapproval of Applications for Registration and Transfer of Registration Records filed on July 9 to 18, 2012 General Registration in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM)

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections (Commission) promulgated on June 21, 2012 Resolution No. 9475 providing for the RULES AND REGULATIONS IN THE CONDUCT OF GENERAL REGISTRATION OF VOTERS IN THE AUTONOMOUS REGION IN MUSLIM MINDANAO (ARMM);


WHEREAS, in furtherance of the Commission's mandate under Republic Act No. 8189 as reiterated as reiterated in Joint Resolution No. 3 of the Congress of the Philippines and signed by President Benigno S. Aquino III, to ensure honest and credible elections it is imperative that the list of applicants for registration and transfer of registration records be subjected to cleansing process through Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) prior to the ERB hearing;

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the powers vested in it by the Constitution, the Omnibus Election Code, Republic Act No. 8189 and other related election laws, the Commission RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to reset the period for hearing by the Election Registration Board (ERB) in the ARMM to give ample time to complete the biometrics matching, in accordance with the following schedule:


Let the Election and Barangay Affairs Department implement this Resolution, and the Education and Information Department public this resolution in two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
