COMELEC dispenses inspection, verification and sealing of book of voters

The Commission on Elections resolves to dispense with the inspection, verification and the sealing of the Book of Voters, which the "Voter's Registration Act of 1996" mandates the Board of Election Inspectors to be done before the start of the campaign period.  

Contained in Resolution No. 9630, promulgated on January 31, 2013, the Commission, in observance of the "Precautionary Protection Order" (PPO) issued by the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), on August 31, 2010, in Case No. 004 entitled "Manuel Roxas versus Jejomar C. Binay," resolves to dispense with the process of inspection, verification, certification, and sealing of the precinct book of voters.
